The Doņana National Park
The UNESCO protected park is located in the provinces of Seville and Huelva,
approximately halfway between the cities of Huelva and Cadiz. It spreads over
a 50, 720 hectare area, incorporating an unusual mix of wetlands, marshes and
sandy beaches and dunes. The unique ecology, together with the favorable climate
year-round, provides an excellent habitat to innumerous permanent bird- and
animal species, but also invite a massive immigration of breeding birds in the
spring. The endangered Spanish Imperial Eagle and the Lynx are just a couple
of the rare animals that might be seen during one of the many safari-tours that
are organized by the park staff.
